Впервые за всю историю жанра, вы получили возможность создавать своих собственных борцов. Вы можете варьировать все известные параметры - выносливость, скорость и прочее. Особое удовольствие доставит вам имиджмеикерство - игра позволяет вам одеть и причесать борцов по своему вкусу. Кроме того, в игру добавлены новые опции: Вы сможете поучаствовать в турнире по олимпийской системе, сражаясь со всеми бойцами подряд для того, чтобы завоевать титул WWF; можете выбрать себе одного соперника; Можете сражаться в клетке - кто первый оттуда выберется, тот и победитель. Нет проблем и с использованием оружия - выбирайте, что вам больше подходит - телевизоры или стулья. Добавлен в игру и режим для четырех игроков. Освоение простых движений (таких как удар рукой, пинок, бег, нырок) не займет у вас много времени, а вот стать хорошим борцом не так просто. Чтобы опрокинуть своего противника, прыгнуть на него сверху, предварительно забравшись на угловой столб ринга, или перекинуть его через себя, вам придется изрядно потрудиться. Различные счетчики показывают самочувствие борцов, так что всегда известно, сколько еще ударов нужно нанести, чтобы доконать врага. WWF War Zone - очень профессионально сделанная игра, но и тут не обошлось без традиционных недостатков. Движения зачастую выполняются слишком медленно, что позволяет противнику наносить крепкие опережающие удары. А в режиме для четырех игроков такая простая задача, как переключение на более слабого соперника, может оказаться чрезвычайно долгим ритуалом. Win the WWF title in challenge mode on the medium or hard difficulty level with The Undertaker.

Alternate Costumes
At the character selection screen, hold L2 and select a wrestler.

Beans Mode
Win the WWF title in challenge mode on the medium or hard difficulty level with one of the Headbanger's. In this mode, players burp and fart during matches.

Big Head Mode
Win the WWF title in challenge mode on the medium or hard difficulty level with the British Bulldog or The Rock.

Change Goldust Costumes
Win the WWF title in challenge mode on the medium or hard difficulty level with Goldust. Then, highlight Goldust on the character selection screen and press L2, R1 or R2 for more costumes, including the MarilynDust and DustyDust versions.

Change Stone Cold Costumes
Win the WWF title in challenge mode on the medium or hard difficulty level with Stone Cold. Then, highlight Stone Cold on the character selection screen and press L2, R1, or R2 for more costumes, including the black vest and jeans; Austin 3:16 t-shirt and jeans.

Earn Extra Attribute Points
Win one of the following matches indicated below in one player mode to earn extra attribute points for created wrestlers.

Ego Mode

At the character selection screen, hold Up and press Block.

Summon A Wrestler
During a match, press one of the following button combinations to have the corresponding wrestler come into the ring and fight against your opponent.
Note: The game mode will automatically switch to a handicap match and you will lose by disqualification after the match. This may only be done in a 1-on-1 match in either vs. or challenge mode.

When "Press Start" appears on the opening screen, enter the following code: Hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press Down + X, Left + Square, Up + Triangle, Right + Circle. Release L1 + L2 + R1 + R2, then press Down + X, Left + Square, Up + Triangle, Right + Circle. Repeat the entire code again, then press L1 + L2, R1 + R2, L1 +L2 + R1 + R2. If you entered the code correctly, the phrase "Movie 1" will appear. Now press Up or Down to select an FMV sequence between 1-64 and press X to view it. Then once the FMV sequence is completed, press Down + X to view the previous FMV sequence or Up + X to view the next FMV sequence.

Win the WWF title in challenge mode on the medium or hard difficulty level with a user-created wrestler that has at least 30 attribute points. Then a pumped-up shirtless Steve Austin with jeans will be selectable as a custom character.

Wrestle As Sue The Ring Girl
Win the WWF title in challenge mode on the medium or hard difficulty level with Bret Hart or Own Hart. Then, Sue the ring girl will be selectable as a custom wrestler.
