DESCRIPTION

Tekken is an arcade fighting game franchise created and developed by Namco. Beginning with the original Tekken arcade game released in 1994, the series has received several sequels, as well as various home conversions and spin-off titles released for consoles. The story in each game in the main series documents the events of the fictional martial arts tournament, The King of Iron Fist Tournament, which is hosted by the Mishima Zaibatsu corporation. The prize is typically control of the company, which then allows the winner to host the following tournament.

The arcade versions of the game have traditionally used PlayStation based hardware to run the games, and subsequently each Tekken installment was eventually made for its respective PlayStation.

Get ready for the ultimate brawl-for-all! Namco Limited introduces the 3D arcade smash hit Tekken for the Platstation game console.

Tekken brings together eight of the world's deadliest fighters for a winner takes all tournament. Unlike Street Fighter, Tekken exists in a 3D environment with 360 degree visuals. You'll fight each round against a different enemy skilled in various forms of martial arts. You must match their skills and expose the weakness of each opponent to defeath them and become the tournament champion.

Rock to a techno soundtrack as you perform mind-melting special moves and bone-snapping throws throughout the world, including Italy, King Edward Island, Greece, and Fiji. String together special combo moves, and with no rules there is no shame in kicking your opponent when he's down.

CHARACTERS:
Цитата:
1 - Anna Williams: Anna Williams is the younger sister of Nina Williams. She is a playable character only in the console version of the game.

2 - Armor King: Was a rival of King's when the latter was still an inexperienced wrestler. One of his eyes accidentally got damaged during a fight with King. Armor King eventually disappeared from the official Lucha libre scene but showed unrivaled prowess in shady fights.
When his rival and friend King ran away, choosing the path of the drunkard, Armor King became worried and intervened just in time, as King was at the edge of a breakdown. Finding King distraught and drunk in an alleyway, he convinced him to get back into the spirit of fighting and enter the second tournament.
Years later, King was attacked and killed by Ogre. However, Armor King saw a new fighter with a jaguar mask step into the wrestling ring in order to save the orphanage, and decided to train him to become the second King.

3 - Ganryu: Was banned from the sumo ring after he was caught fixing fights in his favor. Blackballed from the only sport that he was capable of fighting in, Ganryu ended up being employed by Heihachi Mishima in Tekken. He fights Yoshimitsu who defeats him and steals his ill-gotten money. Later, he works for Kazuya Mishima in Tekken 2. Entering the second King of Iron Fist Tournament, Ganryu ended up falling in love with Michelle Chang - a love that Michelle was oblivious to, believing Ganryu to be a disgusting, woman-crazed madman. After Michelle defeated him, and the disappearance of Kazuya, Ganryu returned to Japan.
However, his ban from Sumo was lifted, and he became the youngest ever Rikishi. Among the dialogue in Tekken 5, it is stated that Ganryu has never won a championship. After the events of Tekken 2, Ganryu opened a sumo stable and worked as a trainer to other sumo wrestlers. He did this to finally forget about Michelle. One day, while watching a televised showing of the King of Iron Fist Tournament 4, he spotted Julia Chang as one of the competitors. Remarking how much she looked like his old crush, Michelle, Ganryu decided to enter the fifth tournament, convinced that he would win Julia's heart if he recovered her lost Forest Rejuvenation Data.

4 - Heihachi Mishima: Is one of the main characters in the Tekken fighting game series. He is one of only four characters (the others being Paul Phoenix, Nina Williams and Yoshimitsu) to have appeared in every game in the series and he makes two appearances within the series as the final boss.
In an attempt to eliminate his son's "weakness", Heihachi tossed Kazuya, his then 5-year old son, down a deep ravine, claiming that if he were truly his son, he would be able to survive the fall and climb back up. To further motivate Kazuya, Heihachi adopted Chinese orphan Lee and raised him as a rival to his true son. After Kazuya had traveled abroad and became an undefeated champion, the 52-year-old Heihachi announced the King of Iron Fist Tournament in order to test him. Kazuya won the tournament, tossed Heihachi off the same cliff and assumed control of the Zaibatsu.

5 - Jack: Is a series of androids created by the Mishima Zaibatsu and G Corporation for different purposes: Jack is the original model, and was created by the Mishima Zaibatsu in order to counter a coup from Kazuya Mishima in the King of Iron Fist Tournament.

6 - Kazuya Mishima: Although originally appearing as the main protagonist in the original Tekken game, he becomes one of the series' leading villains from Tekken 2 onward, after being overtaken by the Devil Gene, where he is known as Devil Kazuya.

7 - King: Is the name of two characters in the Tekken fighting game series. The characters were inspired by the pro wrestler Satoru Sayama[1], as well as Mexican wrestler Fray Tormenta[2], a Catholic priest who became a masked wrestler in order to support an orphanage.

8 - Kuma: Is Heihachi Mishima's pet. Like King, there are actually two characters by the name, and between them, they have appeared in all the Tekken games so far.
Raised and trained in the Mishima style of fighting arts, the first Kuma became an avid bodyguard for his master. In the first two tournaments, Kuma enters to defeat Paul Phoenix. However, he loses to Paul in both tournaments, and shortly after, he dies of old age, leaving behind a young cub, who becomes a bodyguard in his place for Heihachi. In Tekken, Kuma was represented as a Sun Bear; however in Tekken 2, Kuma is either a Grizzly Bear or a Polar Bear, depending on which costume is used.

9- Kunimitsu: Was a former member of the Manji clan of ninja bandits led by Yoshimitsu. She lost her Japanese identity when she joined the group to maintain her anonymity. Upon joining, she was taught the skills of the stealth knife and Manji-style ninjutsu. She stayed with the group for a few months, until a series of petty thefts from the band's funds led to her dismissal. At a loose end, she decided to train as a mechanic mending air conditioners. She entered the first King of Iron Fist Tournament intending to steal a Native American treasure from a young brave Michelle Chang. Kunimitsu, fearing the wrath of the vengeful Michelle, went into hiding.

10 - Lee Chaolan: is Kazuya Mishima's foster brother, and Heihachi Mishima's adopted son. Lee's parents died when he was a young child, leaving him to fend for himself on the streets. Facing a hostile environment each day, Lee quickly became a skilled scrapper with reflexes that were amazing for a boy of his age. It was these qualities that caught the eye of Heihachi, who witnessed Lee fighting off several other kids while on a business trip. Impressed by his natural ability, Heihachi decided to adopt Lee, and took him back to Japan to be educated. It is not known if he actually felt any emotion towards the orphan; it has been suggested that he simply raised him to replace his blood son Kazuya, whom he had at first considered to be too weak to inherit the Zaibatsu. Another possibility is that Heihachi wanted to give Kazuya a rival to inspire him to shape up.
Before the events of the original Tekken, Heihachi sent Lee to the U.S. to handle the Mishima Zaibatsu's operations there, and to continue his business education. While Heihachi trained Kazuya in the art of Mishima Style Fighting Karate, Lee studied with Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law in the U.S. This is the reason for some of the moves that Lee shares with Paul Phoenix and Marshall Law.
When Kazuya took the Zaibatsu from Heihachi, Lee decided to work with his brother. Considering the rather demeaning position he received (is known by Kazuya as his secretary), it can be assumed that he did so only to be in a good position to overthrow Kazuya should the chance present itself. Lee was known to be the boss of Kazuya's cadre of personal bodyguards (Anna Williams, Bruce Irvin, Ganryu), and he also supervised Doctor Boskonovitch's projects for creating the ultimate military animal for Kazuya.

11 - Marshall Law: Is a Chinese American who fights using various martial arts. Sometimes known as "The Fighting Chef," he is a close friend of Paul Phoenix, and he is the father of Forest Law.
25-year-old Marshall enters the first King of Iron Fist Tournament in order to gain enough money so he could start his own dojo. He does win enough money for his dojo as a runner-up and took Wang Jinrei to a draw. He is indeed married, as "Mrs. Law" is seen in Yoshimitsu's ending.

12 - Michelle Chang: Is a half-Chinese half-Native American woman from Arizona (her father Bernard Chang was from Hong Kong, China and her mother is a Native American from Arizona) and the foster mother of Julia Chang. Her father was killed along with the rest of the tribe by Heihachi Mishima's forces, who were searching for a treasure, a pendant that allegedly could control and subdue great powers and spirits. The pendant was coveted by Heihachi. When the Mishima Zaibatsu forces had left, Michelle's father gave Michelle the pendant before dying. Michelle entered the King of Iron Fist Tournament to seek vengeance on Heihachi for the murder of her father and tribe. Michelle also encountered Kunimitsu, a treasure hunter that was seeking the pendant. Michelle defeated Kunimitsu and secured the amulet. She promptly withdrew from the tournament; as she had achieved what she then realised should have been her main goal, and although she did not win the tournament, Michelle was still satisfied that another fighter (Kazuya Mishima) defeated Heihachi.

13- Nina Williams: She is known to be a cold-blooded assassin who had made her very first appearance in the original Tekken game and since has appeared in every Tekken game released.
Nina Williams was born and raised in Ireland, as was her sister, Anna Williams.[1] From a young age, both were taught various forms of martial arts and other forms of fighting,[1] and a sibling rivalry broiled between the two. Both sisters admired their father Richard Williams, and they often craved for his attention. Nina was trained in assassination martial arts and borrows concepts from Aikido and bone martial arts,[1] making it ideal for her future job as an assassin. As she quickly became an assassin, the 20-year-old Nina had later been hired during the King of Iron Fist Tournament to assassinate Heihachi Mishima.

14 - Paul Phoenix: is a judo expert and a good friend of the Law family. His mixture of judo and Shotokan karate has achieved legendary status, but a seemingly minor complication always arises that prevents him from winning the tournament, as in the case when a traffic jam prevents his confrontation with his rival, Kazuya Mishima, at the end of the second Iron Fist tournament.
In common with many Tekken characters, Paul's moveset includes flamboyant fictional attacks, mixed with more realistic-looking techniques. While his strike-heavy style bears little in common with grapple-based modern olympic judo, early judo did in fact include striking attacks, based as it was on various forms of jujutsu.[5] In Tekken, Paul's sub-boss was Kuma, a bear supposedly trained by Heihachi Mishima; this was explained by Paul having witnessed as a child a martial artist called Willie Williams fighting a bear. Willie Williams is a real-life kyokushin karateka, who can indeed be seen challenging a bear in a sequence filmed as part of a documentary about Kyokushin Karate,.

15 - Wang Jinrei: Was a companion of Jinpachi Mishima, Heihachi Mishima's father. Wang watched Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima with great interest as they grew and chose their respective paths of life. Wang remained generous and kind whilst living as a recluse in the Mishima gardens. Wang also tutored Ling Xiaoyu, his granddaughter, in the martial arts at a young age. Furthermore, Wang Jinrei took Marshall Law on in the first King of Iron Fist Tournament, which ended in a draw. However, Wang loses to Jun Kazama in the second tournament.

16 - Yoshimitsu: Makes his first appearance in 1994's Tekken. In the game's story, Yoshimitsu enters the first tournament as a decoy, so that other members of the Manji Party can steal the tournament's funds unobserved. Yoshimitsu learns about a sumo wrestler called Ganryu, whose disrespectful attitude in the ring cost him his promotion into Yokozuna rank. This base disrespect for the sumo code infuriates Yoshimitsu and he defeats Ganryu, stealing his ill-gotten money and giving it to the poor. At a later time, Yoshimitsu leads an infiltration on Dr. Boskonovitch's lab in order to steal his Eternal Energy device. Though Yoshimitsu loses his left arm during the infiltration, Boskonovitch helps the injured ninja escape and fits him with a mechanical prosthetic.
Manufacturer's description:
