All Sony update discs have copy protections. You cannot install the DVD Player with a copied disc, unless the said protections are cracked.

"A2" is just an identifier I put so I can remember what cracking strategy was used. For this disc, A2 means :
- The main program is deXORed and modified for launching the subprogram as an ELF (instead of a KryptoELF);
- The subprogram (the MC file installer) is MagicGate decrypted
- The cdvdKey has been hardcoded in the subprogram
- The update package has been deobfuscated and the deobfuscation functions of the subprogram were disabled

So, the copy protection is cracked, but the installation remains region-restricted. The installation is only possible with an European console (it does NOT work in Russian consoles).

krHACKen, а что насчет DVD-плеера для консоли PSX DVR? насколько я знаю в у нее в прошивку встроен DVD-плеер NTSC/J региона соответстенно он признает DVD-Video диски только своего региона.Нельзя ли его взломать и сделать мультирегионным? PS:DVD-плеер там лежит ввиде обычного ELF-файла,могу выложить если надо,версию DVD-плеера не знаю,в консоли нигде не указанно.Модель консоли DESR-7000 прошивка консоли 1.31
