DESCRIPTION

Terracon is an action-adventure video game released in August 2000 for the Sony PlayStation in Europe only. When a terraforming machine malfunctions you (Xed) are the only surviving member of you race. He has to fight its robot minions in order to survive and collect the Genergy required to rebuild his homeworld. With a variety of guns Xed runs around several worlds, which are divided into 32 huge 3D levels.

STORY:
The Greys are a civilisation many millennia older than our own. As their own world became overpopulated, their chief scientists recognised the need to colonise other worlds. It was an awesome project that would require them to alter the balance of nature on the lifeless planets of the System into hospitable new worlds - a technique known as "Terraforming".

To supervise all operations and control the machines needed for the job of terraforming the planets, Doc constructs THE TERRACON, a massive artificial brain, a living, thinking mind connected to a network of machines on every planet in the System. Where there was darkness it brought light. Where there was chaos it brought order. Where there was desolation it brought LIFE!

But while the Greys enjoyed their new Eden, the Terracon began to evolve; to develop independent thoughts; free will.

Once its job was done, its creators decided to shut down the Terracon's systems. The fools! They created a machine to do the work of a GOD! Did they not expect it would believe itself to be one? It was built to create. Now it seeks only to destroy those who stand in its way.

The Terracon's first act of retribution was to destroy the Greys homeworld. The lifeless bodies of its creators floated out into space along with the flotsam and jetsam, discarded remains of a dead world.

One lowly Grey called Xed barely managed to escape the onslaught and has travelled from planet to planet in search of a way to stop the insane Terracon. Xed is maddened by rage, hungry for revenge. As he catches up with the mighty TERRACON, a great battle between alien and machine begins...

CHARACTERS:
- Xed: Was hatched at mammary central just like his 27 brothers and 15 sisters. From an early age, Xed was bad tempered and had an aversion to machines. As soon as he was of age, Xed was put into the newly formed terraforming service where he could focus his destructive energies to the benefit of the common good. Xed quickly gained a reputation of being a loner and could always be found terraforming away from the others, and in particular the machines run by the Terracon brain.

- Doc: Started off as a flight engineer working on the Plutonian dropship programme. During the early part of his career, he constructed a biologically grown computer granting him his advanced science doctor's degree. Having perfected the Plutonian dropship design he resigned stating: "It isn't exactly rocket science". Doc transferred to the newly formed Plutonian terraforming project, and soon become a leading scientist on the research project that would turn lifeless planets in the solar system into green havens to be colonised by the dangerously over-populated Plutonians.

Having downloaded the entire contents of his mind into a computer, Doc now lives aboard Xed's dropship. Not only does Doc pilot the ship, but he also keeps Xed informed with up-to-the-minute information with his mission briefings and map screens..

Но они попали в очень неприятную ситуацию. Огромный робот, который они построили, чтобы заменить атмосферу на необитаемых планетах и решить проблему перенаселения, обратился против них самих. Это что-то вроде Противостояния Последнего Серого, но при этом вы получаете кое-какую помощь. Помимо разнообразного огнестрельного оружия, обладающего энергией турбин, здесь еже имеется созданный компьютером дух Дока, патриархального всезнайки. Вы путешествуете по планетам, собирая Гены и Картриджи, уничтожая плохих парней и спасая Миры.
